It's not too late to get your H1N1 or Seasonal Flu Shot

The South Dakota Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control, (CDC), continue to urge citizens to be vaccinated against H1N1 and seasonal flu as the first and most important step in protecting against the flu.

Both H1N1 and Seasonal Flu Vaccines available at Pioneer Memorial Clinics

Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services Medical Clinics in Centerville, Parker and Viborg have H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine available. Both vaccines are now available to anyone over six months of age. No appointment is necessary, and citizens are encouraged to receive their flu shots as soon as possible. Individuals can call or stop by any of the following clinics: Centerville Medical Clinic, Centerville, SD; Parker Medical Clinic, Parker, SD, or the Viborg Medical Clinic, Viborg, SD.

According to the South Dakota Department of Health and CDC, it is not too late to get vaccinated for seasonal flu. The timing and duration of flu seasons vary. While flu outbreaks can happen as early as October, most of the time influenza activity peaks later than January.

County Health H1N1 Walk-In Clinic Set For Jan. 22

Deb Hauger, Turner County Health Nurse, will hold a H1N1 walk-in clinic at the Turner County Community Health Offices in Viborg and Parker, on Friday, Jan. 22. There is no charge for the H1N1 flu vaccination. According to Hauger, “The H1N1 clinics are open to anyone ages six months and up and no appointment is necessary. Simply come to our office in Viborg, lower level of the Viborg Medical Clinic, between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., or our office in Parker, lower level of the courthouse, between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Jan. 22nd.”
