Pioneer Memorial recognizes Kim Kaufman as the July Employee of the Month

Kim Kaufman, Patient Representative for the Therapy Dept. at Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services, has been named as the July Employee of the Month. Kim started working with Pioneer Memorial September 2015.

In Kim’s role, she is responsible for answering the phone and scheduling appointments and completing pre-authorizations for the therapy patients. She provides rehab wellness (currently paused due to COVID-19), and keeping stats for therapy patients.

Kim holds a degree as a supreme stylist from Stewards School of Hairstyling; which we are grateful for her sharing her talents by helping with residents’ hair during the COVID pandemic. Her family includes her husband (Loren) and her daughter (Dana); along with her dogs (Tippy and Rowdy), and cat (Wendell Schmit). When she is not providing her time for the patients and staff at the hospital, Kim enjoys wood working, baking, crafts, visiting with people, and yardwork. More specifically, she enjoys working with her “Memorial Gardens” for family members she has lost as a way of keeping them close in her daily life and as a way of providing her daily inspiration. She is also currently keeping very busy and focusing a lot on her daughter’s upcoming wedding in October by making bridesmaid bouquets and bows.

Those who nominated Kim for this award described her as always being ready to help with anything she can with a smile for everyone. She is always going above and beyond, especially during this time of COVID-19: by rearranging her days and duties to do hair for our resident ladies, even coming in on her days off when needed. This was so important for our residents, as they felt her support and love during this difficult time. Kim is a huge asset to our facility and deserves a huge THANK YOU for her teamwork and willingness to help! . When asked what she thought of the award Kim stated, “It is a very nice award. It is nice to be recognized for the things you ‘love’ to do! I tell my daughter that it is the little things you do for people that make a HUGE difference in their lives!”

Kim certainly demonstrates her commitment to teamwork and is an outstanding asset to Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services! Congratulations Kim Kaufman on a well-deserved recognition.
