Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services is pleased to announce Dr. Gabriel Johnson, DO, is now seeing patients at the Viborg Medical Clinic. Dr. Johnson recently finished his Residency in Family Medicine from Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, FL. He also received Residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology from St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY. Dr. Johnson received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.
Dr. Johnson grew up in Florida and spent his early adulthood and time in medical school in the Midwest. He recently moved to Sioux Falls with his wife, Joy, who is an occupational therapist. They have two children, Micah and Levi. While not working, he enjoys hunting (deer, pheasant, and turkey); fishing (saltwater / freshwater); scuba diving, grilling, and is a gun enthusiast (target shooting, skeet, clay pigeons, etc.). When discussing his new role in the Viborg Medical Clinic, Dr. Johnson stated, “I’m looking forward to settling down with my family and working with and alongside the healthcare community at Pioneer Memorial. I’m looking forward to establishing relationships and providing healthcare to those in my community.”
