Amanda Jans, Director of Nursing – LTC, has been named as the May Employee of the Month for Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services. Amanda started working with Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services in June 2015 as a Charge Nurse in LTC, 2016 as a RN in the Hospital, 2020 became the Assistant Director of Nursing/Educator for LTC and in 2023 moved into her role as the Director of Nursing – LTC. She is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of our 51-bed licensed nursing home and 12 bed licensed Assisted Living including caring for our residents and overseeing nursing staff. She also handles the operations to ensure we are maintaining state & CMS regulations as well as quality measures for the residents we care for.
Amanda graduated from the Southeast Tech in 2012 with her LPN degree and went to get her Associates degree in 2013 and finished up with a Bachelors of Nursing from the University of South Dakota.
Amanda lives in Parker with her husband Adam and their two daughters Rayah & Zoey, son Bryken, two dogs Bentley & Oakley and one cat Spook.
Those who nominated Amanda for this award described her as always coming to work with a smile on her face and a positive attitude even when there is a stressful day ahead. She is fair to all staff holding everyone accountable, but also knows how to have fun in a work place too! She has demonstrated leadership and is excellent in all her roles. She is a great asset to Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services!
When Amanda isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with family, friends and attending her kids sports events and other activities.
When asked what she thought of the award Amanda stated, “I am very thankful for this award. We have a great team at Pioneer Memorial and I would not be able to do my job without them!”
