Viborg Medical Clinic Welcomes Katie Mack, CNP

Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services is pleased to announce the hiring of Katie Mack, CNP. Katie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of South Dakota State in 2015 and her Master of Science in Nursing at Clarkson College in 2025. During her career as a RN, she has worked in the critical care setting as an ICU, ER and flight nurse.

Katie is board certified with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is also certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basis Life Support (BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). She hopes to bring this experience to the rural Emergency Department setting to give the highest, evidenced-based care to our community.

Katie grew up in Watertown, SD and currently resides on an acreage outside of Freeman, SD. She’s married to her high school sweetheart, Cullen, who is a high school teacher and head track coach in Parker, SD. They have a 3-year-old son named Harlan. Katie is also in the SD Army National Guard as a Field Artillery Officer. When she is not taking care of patients or serving her country, she enjoys reading books, lifting weights, watching historical documentaries, and spending time with her family.

Katie stated: "I am honored to be able to be a part of Viborg and the surrounding area closer to home. I am looking forward to developing relationships within the community and be able to provide local high-quality health care."
