Training

Amanda Marts (Lounsbery), MSPT grew up in rural Davis, SD and attended school in Centerville.  She graduated from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion with a Master's Degree in Exercise Science and also in Physical Therapy.

After graduation, she practiced in Gregory, SD for three and one-half years, before returning to Turner County in 2006 to work at Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services and be closer to family.

Amanda's chosen field of specialty grew out of her desire to impact the lives of her famile patients. She comments,  "Most women are hesitant to talk to their healthcare provider about various 'women's issues' and are unaware that conservative treatment and education is reatily available for these conditions. It is my desire to promote awareness and positive results through education, treatment and consultation."

Amanda supports both the physical and emotional health of each patient and their families in a respectful and compassionate environment.  Her philosophy of patient care is to treat each individual like her own family member.  She pledges to continue to educate the community and to increase  public and professional awareness of women's physical therapy health services.
