Holly Jensen, Performance Improvement Coordinator, has been named as the March Employee of the Month for Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services. Holly started working with Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services in July 2008. She is responsible for assisting all the departments with establishing and monitoring performance improvement metrics and data reporting. She develops improvement projects and the annual Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Plan for the organization. She also is a Charge Nurse in Long-Term Care, and in the Hospital as needed. She works with Dr. Dennis Glatt, MD on surgery days performing colonoscopies and endoscopies; providing conscious sedation and assistance as needed during the procedures. As a Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor, she provides CPR training to the Pioneer Memorial staff and local communities.
Holly lives on a farm outside of Viborg with her husband, Gregg, and daughter, Stella (8) and son, James (4). She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SDSU, and is working towards her Masters of Science in Nursing Administration from University of Mary with planned graduation in April 2019.
Those who nominated Holly for this award described her as always having a positive attitude and is all about teamwork. Her compassion and hard work never goes unnoticed, and she never fails to stop what she is doing to help someone. A fellow co-worker said, “We absolutely love having Holly on our team!”
When Holly isn’t working, she enjoys golfing and spending time on the lake in the summer. She enjoys her family snowmobile trips and cheering her daughter’s dance team on at competitions during the winter. She also helps on the farm during planning and harvest.
When asked what she thought of the award Holly responded, “I am honored to receive this award, which would not be possible without the support and teamwork of everyone here. I love working alongside everyone within the organization to deliver quality care to the patients and residents. During these last almost 11 years, I have been supported in my growth as a nurse and I look forward to continuing to serve the community with my Pioneer Memorial work family.”
